Isle of Wight holidays are a good choice if you happen to be travelling with a group of friends, your spouse or even with the entire family. There are so many things to do here, that people of all ages will never get bored during their holidays in Isle of Wight. A good form of accommodation has got to be the holiday cottages, which are located near most of the tourist zones in the Isle of Wight. These holiday cottages are self-catering units and are perfect for small or large groups of people. You will also be provided with ample parking space if you happen to stay here. Besides beaches, gardens, adventure parks, castles, restaurants and pubs, you can also spend a good many hours with the entire family at some of the Isle of Wight’s museums. Here are some interesting museums that shouldn’t be given a skip during your holidays in Isle of Wight.

Dinosaur Isle

Dinosaur Isle is a museum that is located at Culver Parade in Sandown, not too far from the Sandown holiday cottages. If you are travelling with the kids in town, then make sure to visit this museum during your holidays in Isle of Wight. You will spend many hours intrigued by the displays of fossils and life size replicas of the island’s dinosaurs. Many of these fossils have been preserved here since they were first discovered on the island in 1819. Be sure to leave the holiday cottages after a late breakfast to ensure that you and your family or group of friends get a good number of hours here. It is not only a fun-filled trip, but also an educational experience at the same time. You can also visit the Dinosaur Isle Shop, which sells children’s books on prehistoric life, themed stationery, jewellery, and books for adults too. This museum remains open throughout the week from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Lilliput Antique Doll & Toy Museum

Here, one gets to see over 2000 exhibits of collectable dolls, dollhouses, rocking horses, trains, bears, and many rare things that date back to 1950 AD! Also, make sure to stop by the museum’s gift store before heading back to the holiday cottages. The store has some interesting toys on sale. The Lilliput Museum remains open throughout the week from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The only day it remains shut is on Christmas Day. The entrance fee for adults is £2.50, whereas senior citizens pay £1.50 and children under 14 years of age pay £1.25. Children under the age of 5 years can enter for free.
